BackToMyCar is a simple application with NO ADS that assures you of never forgetting where you parked again. Developed by AppsOnTheSide, BackToMyCar is loaded with features that include:

• New direction arrow always points you in the right direction.

• Email, print or text message your parking location to anyone. If youre tailgating at the game and want to meet up with your friends, simply tap Park and then tap Share icon. Thats it!!!! Get the burgers ready!

• Take a picture of your parking location.

• Enter a note (portrait or landscape) about your parking location.

• Set a parking timer to notify you when your meter is about to expire. Previously an add-on, but now its FREE!

• Get turn-by-turn walking directions to your car.

• Hands full? Use the sonar feature to lead you to your car by sound! (Sounds must be turned on.)

• Instantly update your location in a shake. Shake iPhone and Map view will expand to show your current location and your parking location.

• See distances in meters or yards.

How To Use:
• The blue dot represents your current location.

• Tap the Park button when you want to mark your parking location. When doing this, it is important to observe the devices GPS accuracy displayed in the upper left-hand corner. The lower the number, the better the result. If the GPS accuracy is poor, try waiting a minute to see if it improves.

• Getting back to your car is easy! Simply follow the direction arrow which will lead you on a straight line directly to your car.

• Tap Camera icon to take/associate a picture with your parked location.

• Tap Share icon to email or text message the details of your parked location to anyone.

• Tap Note icon to enter a note about your parking location.

• Tap Parking Timer icon to set a parking notification reminder and BackToMyCar will notify you when your meter is about to expire.

• Tap the Location icon to always keep view showing your current location. Shaking the device does the same thing.

• For directions to your parking location, touch the car. A view will popup with the address of your parking location. Touch the arrow, then touch Directions.

• Shake the device to adjust the map view to display both your current and parked location.

• Click the Info icon to edit your preferences.

Please note that BackToMyCar has no control over the accuracy of the GPS receiver. That is handled 100% by the phone itself. If you find the accuracy is poor, wait a minute to see if it improves.

I like this app quite a lot. It quite clearly show the accuracy of the GSM/GPS positioning. One can mail position and even a picture of the parking location via email. Highly recommended. Works like a dream! Ill spend 6 stars if the app could also remember the parking bay in airport parking decks... ;-)

Now having the parking meter makes it pretty much complete...and accuracy is great

Some bad moments

Not happy with this app. Now since Apple updated operating system to iOS 4.3.3 from iOS 4.3.2. It was very accurate before , now it varies in location by 40-100 meters,so if using iPad 2 not wise because you will still have to look for your car.. But the iPhone 4 app seems to work fine and very accurate even with the iOS 4.3.3 update. So not sure why the issue tested both out on a wifi connection

Since the update, it crashes all the time, even after reset. Now my car is in Phoenix, Im in Boston, and my save is no longer accessible. Use at your own risk!!

Better than other similiar apps I paid for. Sweet integration with Google. Simple to use. I had a slight issue after I upgraded to v1.3, but I got lightning response from the dev/support team; after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I was happy again. Thanks! Some things you might consider adding and Id be willing to fork over a few $$$: 1. History/Breadcrumbs with the option of uploading to WEB. Where Ive been over time would be interesting. 2. A server based timer that sends and alert to my contact with my last location if I dont return my car in time. That way the next time my GPS leads me off a cliff, someone can come save me.

The use case for this app is fairly simple. You use your iPhone to tag a location (say where you parked your car), then you wander around and do whatever, and then when youre ready it guides you back to your car via GPS. A feature that you can elect to use, if its valuable to you, is the parking meter function. This lets you set a timer and be notified when your meter is about to run out. This feature would be super useful if I was downtown during business hours. You can also take photos of where you are, like leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, and you can email or text your location to others. Loads of features - highly recommended!
